FROM MY JOURNEY
My Journey This Month
In my first month of retirement, I focused on doing less on purpose. I stepped away from the pressure to be productive and started noticing how different it felt to have time without an agenda.
Some days that felt freeing. Other days, it felt a little strange. After years of measuring a good day by how much I accomplished, simply allowing the day to unfold took more practice than I expected.
What surprised me most was how quickly I began to notice the small things I had rushed past before. Decompression wasn't about doing nothing forever. It was about giving myself enough quiet to hear what I might want next.
I wasn't falling behind. There was nowhere I needed to catch up to.
An empty hour isn't wasted. Sometimes it's where retirement finally begins.
